Teleportation Faerie Dust

First used in Chapter 2, it is a strangely glittering powder that is held in a purple coloured velvet pouch. To use the powder, the user throws a pinch of the dust into the air and sings the incantation song in gnomish. In the song, the user has to focus there thoughts onto where they wish to travel to and this also has to be mentioned in the song. The result is that the user disappears from the point where they are standing and re-appears at the location where they wish to be. This sudden disappearance results in a 'popping' sound as the air rushes to fill the air space vacated.

Normally Gorrin, or any other gnome using this type of magic, has to see, or at least have a very good idea o where it is they want to teleport to. This means mostly line-of sight as it is extremely dangerous to travel beyond as there is a real risk of materialising inside a brick wall or other structure.

The pouch within which the faerie dust resides has the strange property of continuously replacing the used dust - this is down to the fact that the pouch contains the powder in an infinite number of 'realities' and so the powder should never actually 'run out'.

Repair Faerie Dust

First used in Chapter 2, this is a green sparkling powder held within a green velvet pouch. The user throws a pinch of the dust onto the object to be repaired whilst singing an incantation song in gnomish. Gorrin varies the song slightly to change the emphasis of the magic, from a simple repair to being able to clean up large areas.

The repair effects are limited however, in that larger damage cannot be repaired - this is clearly illustrated in Chapter 5, where Gorrin is unable to repair the canal breach as the hole was too large.
